On May 21, 1931 at 6:30pm the first meeting of the Peabody Chamber of Commerce was held at Peabody City Hall to promote civic, commercial and industrial interests for the City of Peabody and its tributary territory. It was the first step in creating a unified voice for the local business community.
1990, the Peabody Chamber filed Articles of Organization with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts to form an active support resource for all those business and professional interests in Peabody, committed to promoting member businesses, providing business, government and community information and resources to member organizations, and being an involved corporate citizen in the community.
In 2008, the Board of Directors voted to do business as the Peabody Area Chamber of Commerce to be more welcoming to businesses located in adjacent communities that did not have a local chamber of commerce. It is our philosophy that it is not always where your business is located, but rather where you can derive business from. As such, the Peabody Area Chamber has many members with businesses located in Danvers, Lynnfield, Middleton and many other surrounding communities.
The Peabody Area Chamber is considered one of the largest, most influential business groups in the area. As a resource for business owners, executives and professionals, our goal is to connect, enrich and develop business through dynamic events, committees, seminars and marketing opportunities which will help your business be a success.
